FIR Registered Against BJP MLA Over Alleged Provocative Remarks Outside Rajasthan Mosque
Authorities in Rajasthan have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for allegedly delivering a provocative speech outside a mosque, officials confirmed on Sunday.

The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday evening when the legislator, accompanied by supporters, addressed a gathering near the mosque following a political event. Video footage of the speech, widely circulated on social media, prompted concerns over the potential to incite communal unrest.
Senior police officials stated that the FIR has been lodged under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) pertaining to promoting enmity between different groups and outraging religious sentiments. “We have initiated an investigation based on the evidence available. Appropriate legal action will be taken after a thorough inquiry,” a police spokesperson said.
The MLA has refuted the allegations, maintaining that his remarks were misinterpreted. In an official statement, he said, “I hold all religions in the highest regard. My comments were distorted and taken out of context for political purposes.”
In response to the incident, local authorities have intensified security measures in sensitive areas to prevent any escalation. Community leaders and political figures have appealed for calm, urging residents to maintain peace and refrain from sharing unverified information.
The development comes amid heightened political activity in Rajasthan, with local elections approaching and tensions simmering across various constituencies.
